Our Story

Founded in 2025. Built on a lifetime of experience.

Founded in 2025 by retired Major General Phillip Kameru, the Kameru Leadership Foundation (KLF) is a non-profit organisation registered in Kenya, with a vision to expand its service and impact across East Africa.

Inspired by his personal journey in agribusiness, Major General Kameru established KLF to strengthen youth leadership in the sector. Having experienced the challenges within agribusiness, he is driven by a commitment to see young people thrive where he once encountered barriers.

KLF is founded on the belief that youth in Kenya and across Africa have untapped potential to transform agribusiness and strengthen food systems. With leadership skills, practical support, and opportunity, youth can build sustainable enterprises that create jobs and long-term resilience.

The foundation exists to identify and develop youth leaders in agribusiness, unleashing their innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth capacity to bridge leadership gaps and inspire a new generation of agribusiness leaders.
